Dr. Nope

Dr. Nope is the dentist behind Nope Family Dental, bringing a passion for outstanding oral health care and a deep commitment to service to our practice.

Dr. Nope’s foundation of leadership and dedication began early as an Eagle Scout and was further refined during his service as a U.S. Navy Veteran. Committed to clinical excellence, he built a robust educational background, attending McNeese State University and Lamar University, and graduating with honors from the University of Louisiana – Monroe. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry.

While Dr. Nope is deeply passionate about delivering top-tier care in all aspects of dentistry, the true cornerstones of his life are his faith, family, and friends. He and his wife, Dawn, have proudly settled in Texas, where they are raising their seven wonderful children.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Nope stays incredibly active with a wide array of hobbies. He enjoys home improvement and gardening projects, sports, outdoor activities, classic car restoration, and spending unique quality time beekeeping with his daughter. Above all, Dr. Nope is deeply dedicated to community service, finding his greatest fulfillment in giving back and finding meaningful ways to serve the local community both inside and outside the office.

Susan Bowland

With a remarkable 40 years of experience in dental practice management, Susan is the heart and soul of Nope Family Dental. Over four decades, she has mastered every facet of dental administration, turning a deep knowledge of patient care, insurance, and scheduling into a seamless experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

Known as much for her compassionate heart as her unparalleled expertise, Susan greets every patient like family, offering a warm smile and a reassuring voice that instantly puts dental anxieties to rest. Whether navigating complex treatment plans or sharing a kind word, she ensures that every individual feels truly seen, heard, and valued. Outside the office, Susan's greatest joy is spending quality time with her family and showering love on her beloved grandbabies.

Angie Cheatham

Angie has been crafting healthy, beautiful smiles for 35 years, bringing a masterful touch and a wealth of clinical wisdom to Nope Family Dental. As a veteran dental hygienist, she has spent over 3 decades perfecting the art of gentle, thorough preventative care. She makes it her mission to ensure every patient leaves her chair feeling educated, confident, and completely at ease. Over the years, she has built deep bonds with generations of families, transforming routine cleanings into visits with an old friend.

Angie’s passion for wellness and vitality extends far beyond the walls of the clinic. An avid nature lover, she recharges by heading into the great outdoors to hike, explore, and soak in the fresh air. No adventure is complete without her loyal dog, Sarge, who is always leading the way by her side on the trails.

Mallory Reeves

Mallory is a dedicated part-time dental hygienist at Nope Family Dental, she has spent the last 11 years helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles. She is deeply passionate about patient education, taking the time to break down oral hygiene into simple, actionable steps so her patients feel empowered and comfortable in the chair. Her part-time schedule allows her to perfectly balance her clinical career with her active roles at home and in her community.

Guided by her heart for helping others, Mallory also leads a small group at her church, fostering a welcoming space for community and connection. When she isn't serving her patients or her church, she is a true travel enthusiast with a special love for all things Disney. At home, she enjoys hosting competitive board game nights and spending quality time with her husband, their daughter and son, and their three dogs.

Beth Reid

Beth is a dedicated part-time dental hygienist with 26 years of experience providing exceptional oral healthcare while maintaining a perfect balance between her career and family life. Known for her gentle touch and warm chair side manner, she has spent over two decades helping her community smile with confidence.

When she isn't in the clinic, Beth cherishes quality time with her husband and their two children. An avid traveler, she frequently escapes to Colorado to recharge, soaking in the beautiful mountain views and fresh air. Back home, Beth is a passionate reader who always has a great book close at hand.

Victoria Gonzalez

Victoria brings incredible energy, dedication, and a powerful work ethic to the Nope Family Dental team as a dental assistant. Known for her tireless drive, she is constantly moving behind the scenes to ensure our clinic runs smoothly and our patients receive top-tier, comfortable care.

Her commitment to our patients shines through in everything she does. Victoria has a natural gift for making people feel completely safe and at ease, especially those who might feel nervous about their visit. As a bilingual team member, she proudly speaks Spanish, allowing her to break down communication barriers and ensure all patients feel heard, understood, and respected during their appointments. She listens closely to patient needs, anticipates comfort during procedures, and brings a reassuring presence to the chair side experience.

Victoria’s passion for oral health runs deep. Her love for learning about the ever-evolving world of dentistry has inspired her to take the next big step in her career: she is currently going to school to become a dental hygienist. Balancing her rigorous studies with her hands-on work at the practice, Victoria tackles every day with a bright smile, an eagerness to grow, and a genuine heart for patient care.

Emily Case

Emily brings a sweet demeanor, sharp expertise, and five years of dedicated experience to Nope Family Dental as a dental assistant. Over the last half-decade, she has developed a deep knowledge of clinical procedures, making her an invaluable asset to our doctor and a reassuring presence for our patients. Emily’s gentle approach and warm personality instantly puts patients at ease, turning what can sometimes be a stressful visit into a comfortable, positive experience. She is also nitrous oxide certified, allowing her to safely help provide a deeply relaxing and anxiety-free environment for our patients during their treatments.

When she is not chair side helping patients achieve healthy smiles, Emily is fully embracing the joys of country living. She and her husband are currently fulfilling a lifelong dream by building a home out in the country, where they look forward to raising their farm animals and enjoying the peace of rural life.

Betti Smith

Betti brings a warm, familiar face and exceptional organizational skills to Nope Family Dental as our receptionist. As the dentist’s little sister, she treats the practice like home and considers every patient who walks through the door an extension of her own family.

Her genuine kindness and understanding nature shine through from the moment you call or check in. Betti knows that navigating dental insurance and finding the perfect appointment time can sometimes feel overwhelming. She uses her deep knowledge of scheduling and insurance logistics to make the process completely stress-free. With her empathetic approach, she ensures every patient feels fully supported before they even step into the treatment room.

Away from the front desk, Betti’s world revolves around her family. She absolutely adores her husband, their two wonderful kids, and their two beloved dogs, making the most of every moment they spend together.
